1 Provide project key information to category leads, so they may quote the required BoM item(s) within their commodity category. 2 Provide BoM and Tool pricing for the business case calculation. 3 Continuous review of BoM and tool costs given target updates during awarding process. 4 Drive BoM and tooling sourcing to ensure launch readiness. 5 Drive cost reduction activities together with category leads to achieve pre-SOP savings targets. 6 Monitor BoM and tool costs, and cost reporting to management. 7 Coordinate with Finance/Engineering/PM, to challenge BoM and tooling costs and explore alternatives. 8 Provide regular updates of program milestones, volumes to category managers. 9 Support in supplier negotiations if program leverage is required to seek an optimal price. 10 Support program change initiatives & program ramp-down activities. 11 Support and drive cross functional cost / VA-VE workshops. 12 Ensure early involvement of SQD in case of new suppliers and/or materials and on-time PPAP approval according to program milestones. 13 Build and mediate the interface between engineering and supplier in project related technical issues. 14 Identify and communicate critical materials based on the customer RFQ or BoM and during further project work (availability, lead times, quality, sourcing and contractual risk, mismatching minimum order quantities) to the project team. 15 Provide single point of contact interface with all non-purchasing functions Competencies: 1 very strong negotiation skills 2 project management experience 3 ablility to transfer technical matters into economical considerations 4 strong team player 5 intercultural competence 6 very strong English skills in speech and writing, able to negotiate in English 7 very strong communication skills and assertiveness 8 extensive knowhow of purchasing methods and tools 9 leadership 10 high stress resistance 11 legal/contractual knowledge 12 problem solving 13 analyzing 14 strong MS Office skills 15 knowledge in cost calculation
