Primary Purpose of Position: To work strategically towards offering a world class private brand management for packaging, from material, structure, artwork development to print quality management across multiple Walmart businesses, with WM US as focus. You are responsible for scoping and implementing best in class practices on value engineering, sustainability, cost savings, quality improvements (integrity/print), and process efficiencies; support to deliver retail markets & Walmart Sourcing business targets. Essential Functions of the Job: · Operation Efficiency – Drive continuous improvement and internal process analysis to ensure category project milestones/goals are met; manage quality packaging performance (integrity & print) throughout the supply chain journey and highlight opportunities for cost reductions. · Sustainable Packaging – Examine alternative packaging concepts, technologies, materials & processes and push boundaries, where appropriate, to deliver green (recyclable) solution to retail markets either in the form of new packaging design, green (recyclable) materials and technology advancements. · Establish a strong regional packaging supply chain. Facilitate issue resolution for any time and quality challenge throughout packaging execution. Specific Duties and Accountabilities of the Job: · Oversee process of defining private brand packaging requirements and translating creative as well as retail markets requirements and recommendations into realistic packaging specifications. · Drive supplier empowerment approach for delivering fit-for-purpose private brand packaging from packaging integrity, consistency and sustainability. · Develop network of packaging resources based on production capabilities and geographic location, which includes corrugated board and packaging materials suppliers/printers, and manage interactions with them for the updated price trend, industry standards and new solutions. · Manage packaging appearance, quality and consistency across different country of origin. · Project Management - Provide regular range reporting (aligned to launch), case studies and up-dates to the business of successes, cost saving project, sustainable packaging solutions, challenges and process simplification. Stakeholder Engagement – Development external communications to drive support and ensure consistent private brand packaging execution, that includes quick response for enquiry and discrepancy resolution. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: · Proficiency in both English and the local language. · Excellent communicator, at all levels, who is organized and calm under pressure · Friendly, approachable and flexible · Ability to inspire and influence at all levels · Excellent attention to detail and pride in document quality and accuracy. · Ability to interpret and communicate packaging developments to stakeholder and a global supplier base. · Good at thinking outside the box and creative in their approach to packaging solutions and ways of working. · A team player with an outgoing personality · Comfortable working in both isolation using own initiative and as part of a team · Ability to develop and deliver through a strong network · Strong sense of ownership and analytical thinking skill · Able to present information and arguments in a rational, structured, logical & concise manner. · Travel required Qualifications/Experience Required · Minimum of 10 years proven experience working in Brand Packaging, consumer or private brand · Good knowledge of structural packaging and print technology, material and processes · With design & artwork development background is preferable · Excellent in a client facing role · Familiar with industrial transit packaging testing procedures (e.g. ISTA) · Data visualization using Office software · Relevant packaging qualification · Experience of working with Asian supplier base · Commercial acumen *Walmart doesn’t charge any recruitment or similar fee in the recruitment process including but not limited to interview, offering and onboarding.
