We are looking for a Regional Sales Director who will be responsible for managing our sales team in China, including both in-office and remote employees. This role focuses on achieving ambitious sales targets, optimizing team performance, and fostering a strong culture of success. Note, this sales team and thusly this position will work US based hours when they can contact their US based prospects and customers. Additionally, the role requires a deep understanding of working with U.S.-based companies operating in China, contributing to strategic country management and providing insights on navigating the regulatory and operational landscape for expanding a business entity in China.
Key Responsibilities: ● Lead and manage the Chinese sales team, focusing on hitting and exceeding sales targets for Beyond Menu’s offerings. ● Develop a high-performance culture across in-office and remote teams by mentoring, coaching, and driving accountability. ● Help navigate and provide guidance on the complexities of establishing a legal business entity in China, collaborating with legal and compliance teams as needed. ● Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of the sales team to ensure continuous growth in team capability and success. ● Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with regional market needs and Beyond Menu’s global objectives. ● Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, customer success, product) to drive customer acquisition and retention. ● Provide insights and strategic input into country management, including growth planning, market entry strategies, and operational development. ● Maintain a thorough understanding of the local regulatory environment and its implications for business operations in China. ● Contribute to overall business development, with a strong focus on transactional sales processes and optimizing the sales funnel. ● Build relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers both internally and externally.
Qualifications: ● Fluency in both English and Mandarin ● Proven experience in a sales leadership role, preferably with a U.S.-based company operating in China. ● Demonstrated ability to manage a geographically dispersed sales team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture. ● Strong experience with transactional sales and the ability to build, manage, and optimize a scalable sales pipeline. ● Knowledge and experience in Chinese market dynamics, including local business practices, regulatory environment, and market-entry strategies. ● Strong understanding of the legal and operational requirements of building out a Chinese business entity for an offshore company. ● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and departments. ● Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions and sales strategies.
Preferred: ● Experience in restaurant technology, SaaS, or related industries. ● Experience running and maintaining a high velocity, transactional outbound sales motion ● Experience with Salesforce and Power BI ● Experience with WeChat integrations
