Responsibility: 61 Research and develop novel and sustainable materials to meet engineering requirements (including but not limited to structural and optical applications) for lighting products 61 Evaluate materials in use and explore opportunities for innovative implementations 61 Work extensively with multiple teams (i.e., electrical, mechanical, sustainability) and suppliers to develop optimal material implementation plans and provide professional support throughout product development 61 Identify performance, appearance, quality, and safety risks and outline test, validation, and precaution plans associated with materials 61 Extract quantitative and qualitative insights to assist sustainable product development 61 Keep track of sustainability trends and regulations in Europe and China 61 Occasional travel to material and sustainability related fairs, exhibitions, and events
Requirements: 61 Expertise in material development, preferably macromolecular. Profound knowledge in manufacturing processes, i.e. injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, die-casting, stamping, etc., for materials including but not limited to polymers and metals 61 >5 years of working experience in material development for electronic products, preferably lighting products 61 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both internally and externally 61 Attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data accurately 61 Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team 61 Excellent written English, including research capability. Good verbal English 61 Bachelor's degree or above in Material Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent
