Job Summary We are seeking a System Expert to join our R&D team, focusing on the development and optimization of small home appliances. This role emphasizes a holistic understanding of product systems (e.g., water flow, brewing units, heaters, pumps, and electronics) and requires bridging communication between customers, stakeholders, and technical teams. You will act as a project leader in R&D, ensuring seamless integration of requirements, resolving technical challenges, and driving product improvements through data-driven decisions. Key Responsibilities: 1. System-Level Expertise a. Maintain a horizontal understanding of the entire machine system, emphasizing integration over deep component-level details. b. Analyze interactions between subsystems (e.g., water flow, heating, electronics, software) to optimize performance and reliability. 2. Stakeholder Collaboration a. Serve as the primary contact for internal/external customers, translating their needs into actionable technical requirements for the construction/engineering teams. b. Filter and prioritize findings from customer feedback, field data, and lab results to align with project goals. 3. Problem Resolution & Decision-Making a. Evaluate laboratory test results to identify root causes of issues (e.g., brewing inefficiencies, mechanical failures). b. Propose and validate solutions, balancing cost, timelines, and performance. 4. Project Leadership a. Manage R&D project timelines, ensuring milestones are met and risks are mitigated. b. Coordinate cross-functional teams (electronics, software, mechanical) to deliver system-level improvements. 5. Documentation & Communication a. Create system architecture diagrams, requirements specifications, and risk assessments. b. Present technical updates to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership. 6. Continuous Improvement a. Identify opportunities to enhance product design, usability, and manufacturability. b. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in home appliances. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Software Engineering, or related field. 2. 10+ years in system engineering, preferably in home appliances or consumer electronics. 3. Experience with coffee machines or brewing systems is a strong plus. 4. Strong project management abilities with a track record of leading R&D projects. 5. Excellent communication skills to liaise between technical and non-technical teams. 6. Analytical mindset to interpret lab data and prioritize actions. 7. Basic understanding of software/hardware interactions in embedded systems. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Master’s degree in a relevant field. 2. Certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Systems Engineering (INCOSE). 3. Familiarity with brewing technologies, IoT, or smart home appliances.
