RESPONSIBILITIES: 61 Development of tool and fixtures for assembly processes using 3D CAD (preferable Solidworks and/or Pro-Engineer) 61 Define process equipment, fixtures and tools for new connectors assembly processes or process improvements 61 Provide product and investment cost assessments for new or modified products for the justification and acquisition of major tooling and equipment. 61 Write and develop machine / tooling specifications for processes and equipment to be purchased from outside sources. 61 Drive process risk reduction effort using design for manufacturability (DFM), list potential critical/risk product-process areas (FMEA) and verification testing 61 Define and drive process qualification (FAI, Cmk, Cpk) plans 61 Coordinate with internal & external vendors the fabrication of prototype samples, tooling and equipment to meet schedules 61 Involved in the analysis of defined risk areas and experimentation, detailed design and analysis, DOE, basic technology research and development. 61 Develop and document assembly processes, which include process sheets, operating procedures, spare parts lists, and preventative maintenance plan. 61 Provide training, guidance and support to production and specialized personnel as necessary 61 Participate in team meetings to inform progress on project and customer driven deliverables (such as samples or qualification reports). 61 Interface with vendor on new automated equipment development. 61 Work closely with operations in defining operations plans capacity plan, time study, takt time, line balance, flow diagram, line lay-out, work instructions, workmanship standards, control and inspection plans and other manufacturing documentation. 61 Work with manufacturing team to develop capacity and cost reduction plans for high volume efficiency, product cost reductions and capacity planning. 61 Travel both domestically and internationally as needed. 61 Participate on customer meetings
QUALIFICATIONS: 61 Bachelor's degree in technical discipline preferably; Electro-mechanical, Mechanical 61 Five years’ experience in a process engineering role. 61 Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. 61 Ability to write reports and procedure manuals. 61 Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in each region of the world. 61 Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. 61 Should have knowledge and skills using: o 3D CAD Design software (preferably Solidworks and/or Pro-Engineer) o Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing o Internet software o Project Management software (Microsoft Project) o Spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel) o Presentation software (Microsoft PowerPoint) 61 Ability to perform engineering experiments, collect data and analyze root cause/corrective action and tack time studies. 61 Experience in Automation
