Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 61 Design, develop and test spectrometers used for color measurement, ensuring precision, reliability, and robustness of the system. 61 Identify and select optical components, such as illumination, lenses, diffraction gratings, filters, detectors/cameras, and mechanical parts, considering performance, cost, availability. 61 Utilize optical design software and simulation tools to design and optimize spectrometer optical subsystem to achieve a good balance between performance and manufacturability. 61 Conduct noise, stray light and mechanical tolerance stack up analysis to ensure optical and mechanical components and overall spectrometer system meet required specifications and performance criteria. 61 Develop and implement innovative data processing and calibration algorithms in spectrometer and colorimeter system to improve the system level performance such as stability and accuracy.
Experience & Qualification: 61 B.S. or M.S degree in Optical Engineering. 61 Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in optical system design and development. 61 Experience with spectrometer development, including designing and integrating optical components, detectors, and light sources. 61 Proficient at calculating or modeling theoretical optical system performance and hands-on experience in building and testing optical prototypes and conducting performance evaluations. 61 Experience with design tools (such as Zemax, MATLAB, Python) 61 Experience with transfer to production and NPI (New Product Introduction) processes. 61 Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
