What You’ll Do As a Design Assurance Quality Manager – Electronics, you will support Engineering with delivery of the Quality Model embedded into the Design Milestone Procedures. You will ensure we drive best practices across the design teams, deliver robust designs, aim to reduce warranty, and protect product quality and safety in line with our Company Mission to deliver exceptional product quality to our customers. The successful candidate will partner with key stakeholders to deliver products that meet CTQ (Critical To Quality) features & performance, as well as deliver a product that is consistently manufacturable.
Embed and maintain the Quality Model assigned into New Product Development, in accordance with the Milestone Procedures outlined by the Organizational Strategic Goals, ensuring completeness of all Quality Deliverables at each stage of the process, complimenting the team success of the project with an ideal on-time, on cost and with all CTQ’s of Quality Performance and Manufacturability met. The Quality Model within the Milestone Procedures are owned by all departments to deliver Performance, Reliability and Durability with zero tolerance to Safety and Compliance Support the Design Assurance Team and VP, Design Assurance Quality regarding the execution of the Quality Strategy around the Mission, Vision and Strategic Initiatives for New Product Development Working closely and collaboratively with the global market focusing on Outdoor specific quality challenges to lead resolution of significant quality issues and next generation design modelling Working toward the Company Strategic Goals to define direction, targets and quality goals delivering best practice within the Milestone Procedures ensuring we meet Quality Deliverables within the product development phase Partner with the Customer Facing Quality team to determine key warranty drivers and agree improvement activities with Engineering and Manufacturing Teams Driving an 8D mindset into the design and manufacturing base, performing A3 corrective actions with best practice and lessons learned across the Stanley Black & Decker Quality network Lead, coach, and mentor the Quality Policy, Objectives and Strategy across our Network Reporting of key problems in the portfolio to stakeholders and senior management Leading ‘risk assessment’ and ‘risk mitigation’ activities for the portfolio alongside our teams Work with Customer Facing Quality teams understanding warranty reporting mechanisms and collaborate supporting the Engineering teams Working closely with stakeholders on early warning activity for the portfolio to identify infant failures of all product launches
Who You Are
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or equivalent proven evolving hands-on experience. 5-10+ years of professional work experience with direct proven experience in the following areas: Manufacturing, Quality, Six Sigma, Reliability and Safety Experience working closely with or leading multi-disciplined teams across a broad spectrum of challenges would be beneficial Experience working with Outdoor products will be advantageous Experience in Project Leadership, Engineering or Quality Engineering Ensure Quality Control Plans and Warranty Predictions are agreed with accountability throughout the Milestone Process in liaison with Design, Compliance, Manufacturing, Reliability and Marketing Provide quality analysis and regional feedback of existing product through customer ratings, warranty returns and Service Centre intelligence, teardown analysis, data mining, internal metrics of EOL/SQA/FSA of existing product Perform Risk Assessment/Mitigation, undertake product safety and component reviews Have a clear understanding of DFMEA/PFMEA using quality tools GR&R, FPI, PPAP, Six-Sigma Scorecards, Gap Analysis to determine Detection and Prevention, 8D/A3 Corrective Actions, FRACA analysis and Deviation Control Partner with Engineering to determine spec definition against Customer CTQ’s, testing protocol and results analysis against Qualification Test Plans Partner with our Global DCs to undertake *** Pass Audits, Inspections, product release for launch. Having ISO Auditing accreditation will be advantageous Able to demonstrate the ability to lead corrective actions, working with multiple design teams and manufacturing locations
