Job Overview: Manages a commodity/category of Direct components. Develops the strategy that optimizes the supply chain of such category for TE benefit, in alignment to Business Unit strategies. Executes the sourcing process including but not limited to the preparation of RFQ packages, price, T&C’s, contracts (pricing agreements, supply agreements, etc.). Develops and sustains robust business relationships with internal customers and external suppliers. A Buyer is also responsible to represent procurement with cross functional teams such as engineering, finance, quality, and operations.
Description of the primary work duties and major responsibilities: 61 Conduct cost modeling, TCO analysis and benchmark, identify saving opportunities for package in the region. 61 Identify appropriate competitive suppliers (include searching for new suppliers). 61 Monitor regional saving and other KPIs, drive cross-BU saving activities, promote and drive saving opportunities with BU buyers 61 Develop suppliers to meet TE requirement in terms of delivery, cost, quality. 61 Builds strong relationships with internal customers, strategic suppliers to optimize performance. 61 Develops, executes, category strategies ensuring alignment with plant and BU objectives 61 Creation of standard and customized RFQs/RFIs to define requirements and analyze supplier responses 61 Clean sheet analyses, LPP, price variance analysis also by index, best of best benchmarking 61 Prepare and conduct bidding or negotiations with assigned suppliers 61 Maintain relevant data and documentation (contracts, SAP PIR, TEBIT…)
Qualifications: 61 3~5 years’ Experience in commodity buyer 61 Bachelor’s degree (Business or engineering) 61 Strong communication and intercultural skills (China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines) 61 Experienced working with both local and international teams simultaneously 61 Knowledge of ERP systems as applicable to purchasing (SAP knowledge is a plus) 61 Solution oriented problem solving, strong analytical skills, solid business and law background, negotiation skills 61 Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Fluent in English language) additional languages are an advantage 61 Project management skills/knowledge, beginner to intermediate 61 Negotiation and analytical skills 61 Intermediate to advance use of MS office application mainly focus in Excel 61 Solid presentation skills, will be presenting to upper management (Sr. Mgrs. and Directors) 61 Basic to intermediate knowledge of finance and cost analysis to determine component price competitiveness 61 Understanding of the supplier market and technologies in the package commodity 61 Experience in electronics or package industry is a plus
