Job Description: As the Solid State Chemist you will report directly to Payload Linker department Head where the main purpose of your role will be to perform comprehensive and definitive physical form screening using a wide range of methodologies including equilibration transformations and solution crystallizations. You will also apply solid state techniques for selection and process development of crystallization/freeze-drying/spray drying of Payload Linker intermediates and end products. Responsibilities And Essential Functions of The Job 61 Performing salt and polymorphism screening investigations and crystallization development and report findings 61 Characterizing samples/materials by solid state techniques (XRPD, DSC, TGA, DVS, Microscopy, NMR, FTIR, PSD, IC, GC and HPLC) and report findings 61 Strong computer skills in instrumentation and data processing in a client-server environment 61 Performing technical transfers between internal and external customers Qualifications: 61 Min. B.S. with degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Science or related scientific background experience. Typically, bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience; master’s degree 4+ years of experience; PhD and 2 + years of practical experience of solid-state characterization. Pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience preferred. 61 Demonstrated knowledge of various solid-state characterization techniques such as XRPD, TGA, DSC, particle size, microscopy, surface area, DVS, etc. 61 The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of chemical manufacturing process development, specification setting, starting material justification, and control strategy development consistent with modern expectations for pharmaceutical development. 61 A broad range of functional expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry, mechanistic understanding, compound purification, and standard analytical methodology (HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS, NMR). 61 Good written and oral communication skills.
