What a typical day looks like: Seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist with extensive knowledge of E-mechanical and EE components, including harnesses, chargers, motors and other related materials. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, analyzing, and negotiating the procurement of components for Flex.
61 Responsible for the development, recommendation, and execution of optimal sourcing strategies for certain items. 61 Evaluate and analyze E-mechanical components to determine their "should cost" by assessing materials, manufacturing processes, and market trends. 61 Collaborate effectively with engineering teams and suppliers to discuss specifications, requirements, and potential improvements on E-mechanical products. 61 Manage cash negotiations and secure advantageous commercial agreements with approved suppliers. 61 Negotiate terms and conditions for annual and multi-year purchase commitments. 61 Coordinate selection of transportation modes and carriers which will result in lowering the delivered costs of materials while assuring continuity of quality supply, flexibility to respond to changing requirements and maintenance of vendor relationships for long term benefits. 61 Cost Management/Reduction/Cost Avoidance. 61 Manage inventories associated with the strategic commodities to avoid additional expense or shortage to the company. 61 Evaluation of commodity risk positions reported to multiple levels of the organization. 61 Develop plans resulting in cost savings, synergies, quality improvements and supply chain efficiencies. 61 Evaluate hedge effectiveness and calculate cost savings and avoidance.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team: 61 Bachelor’s Degree, minimum of 5 years of related experience. 61 Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures. 61 Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. 61 Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and suppliers. 61 Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. 61 Excellent analytical and organizational skills required. 61 An understanding of the electronic component markets, price trends and technologies desired. 61 Ability to operate: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, and relevant database/ business systems. 61 CPSM or CIPS or APICS is preferred.
