The Senior Regional Category Buyer Freight & Warehousing is responsible for the regional Strategic Sourcing in the area of above-mentioned Services.
The Regional Category approach creates a mutual added Value for all internal Customers in terms of commercial, logistical, and processual Enhancements by providing Expertise and Best Practices around the needs of the internal Customers as well as strengthening the relationship to strategic Business Partners (internally and externally).
Your tasks
61 Leading all related purchasing activities in the respective region related to
o Freight – Ocean, Air, Road, premium, courier
o Warehousing – plant warehousing, distribution center etc.
together with the Global Category Head.
61 Drive negotiations considering best commercial and operational aspects and ensure compliance with valid rules
61 Identify synergy potential where- and whenever possible
61 Ensure full coverage of all business requirements in the received offers
61 Drive contractual coverage
61 Act as point of escalation for operational topics
61 Support operational improvements by negotiating commercial benefits
61 Develop, improve and maintain rate cards standards
61 Ensure proper upload of rate tables in SAP S4 HANA TM module where rolled out and demanded by the business
61 Keep alignment between purchasing and internal customer strategy
61 Oversee GBS managed tenders to ensure compliance if needed
61 Identify together with internal customer sustainable transport options
Qualifications
61 Academic degree in supply chain, engineering, or comparable qualification
61 Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Purchasing of large companies with international background, preferably in logistic purchasing (NPM area) with verifiable success
61 Experience in project management
61 Able to deal with contradicting targets
61 Knowledge of MS Office tools as well as in SAP R/3 and World Class Sourcing Platforms
61 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English are essential.
61 Further languages beneficial (e. g. Korean )
61 Affinity for cooperation with people and intercultural competences
61 Strong negotiating skills, persuasion, and communication skills
61 Ability to work under pressure, driving execution
