1. KEY RESPPONSIBILITIES
The Supplier Quality Engineer reports to China region Quality Manager, and has the following primary responsibilities for Modine China region Supplier Quality Management process:
61 Supplier Qualification process would be to certify qualified supplier as Modine approved supplier, maintain the approved supplier in SAP system. Make sure Modine shall buy the material or components from approved suppliers
61 Supplier Development process requires SQE has to follow Modine APQP process to develop new product on supplier site, the key sub-process will include STFC (Supplier Technical Feasibility Commitment), PRR/PTR and PPAP approval
61 Supplier Evaluation and Improvement process needs SQE to overall evaluate the supplier performance based on Modine standard metrics, communicate supplier performance with key suppliers, and drive the supplier’s continuous improvement
The incumbent will have the following specific responsibilities:
61 Work with purchasing team to assess potential supplier
61 Maintain Approved Supplier List
61 Lead STFC activities for new product development, the team will be Application Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Plant Quality Engineer, Project Manager, Buyer, Plant Material and supplier
61 Track supplier PPAP process and update PPAP documents in APQP database
61 Lead PRR/PTR audit on supplier site, Modine plant quality should be involved
61 Work with plant quality to approve the supplying parts PPAP
61 Plan and implement annual process and product audit on supplier site
61 Work with Modine plants to evaluate supplier performance, to drive problem solving and continuous improvement
61 Follow Modine Escalation process to manage the risk supplier
61 Support Modine global business, for instance, new product development and problem solving for other regions
61 Take 80/20 approach to support Modine business and daily operations
2. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
General minimum experience of 5 years in Quality Engineering or Supplier Quality Engineering. An in-depth understanding of IATF 16949,VDA6.3, various automotive customers’ requirements and quality tools.
3. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical field is required.
4. TRAVEL:
The incumbent need travel to Modine China suppliers for product development, supplier assessment and problem solving, need travel to Modine China plants to support Modine production process. Generally the travel will take >50% working time
