Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)(HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run university between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. HKUST(GZ) has obtained approval from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and become the *** legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou”. With a spirit of pioneering innovation, HKUST(GZ) charts new territories in cross-disciplinary education and explores new frontiers in pedagogies, aiming to serve as a role model of the mainland-Hong Kong integrated educational development and become a world-famous high-level university, endeavoring to nurture future-oriented, high-level and innovative talents.

In response to the increasingly complex challenges faced by the rapidly changing world, HKUST(GZ) adopts a brand-new and cross-disciplinary academic structure featuring “Hub” and “Thrust” to substitute the conventional one characterized by “school” and “department”, facilitating cross-disciplinary integration while vigorously developing emerging and frontier disciplines. This is a groundbreaking move in the higher education community across the globe.

The Thrust of Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering (BSBE) is established to develop a multidisciplinary program to advance knowledge and applications in areas ranging from life sciences to bioengineering. With the vision to establish world-class research and education, BSBE conducts both basic and translational research, fosters local and international collaborations, and provides rigorous training programs. We also embrace new research areas with profound impacts on Bioscience and Biomedical Engineering in future development.

Duties

1. Daily Management and Maintenance of Bioresearch Laboratories: Assist with the procurement, testing, user training, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and manage inventory, including laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables.
2. Laboratory Fitting-Out Activities: Participate in the setup and related activities for bioresearch laboratories; monitor project progress and quality and coordinate effectively with all stakeholders.
3. Biosafety Management: Oversee biosafety protocols for communal facilities and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
4. User Engagement and Support: Build strong relationships with laboratory users by organizing seminars, user group meetings, and workshops to introduce new technologies; collect feedback regularly to enhance lab user experience.
5. Other Responsibilities: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Thrust Head of BSBE.

职责：

1.参与生物实验室的日常管理、支持和维护工作，包括但不限于：实验仪器的采购验收、测试、用户培训、保养和检修，负责实验室用品、试剂和消耗品的库存监控及管理。
2.跟进生物实验室项目工程的建设及相关工作，确保工程进度和质量符合预期，并协调与各方的沟通。
3.公共实验设施生物安全管理，确保实验室安全符合相关规定和标准。
4.培养与用户的关系，组织研讨会、用户小组会议和工作坊等活动，向用户介绍新技术、定期收集用户反馈。
5. 履行部门主管交办的相关工作。

任职要求:
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in life science, bioengineering, or other related disciplines.
2. Fresh graduates may also apply; experience in setting up life science laboratories and working in a national or provincial demonstration center of experimental teaching is preferred.
3. Possessing knowledge of sufficient depth and breadth and pertaining to the job duties and being able to apply the knowledge for effective problem-solving.
4. Being multi-tasking and detail-oriented and having good skills of interpersonal communication and coordination.
5. A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

5. 良好的中英文书面和口语能力。

This is a Mainland appointment, and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST(GZ) entity in accordance with the Mainland labor laws and regulations. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
