GENERAL SUMMARY: This position’s primary purpose is to plan, organize, and control assigned product lines from conceptual stages through the entire product life cycle, with ownership in terms of products and/or markets’ growth and profitability. The incumbent aims to optimize profit while managing marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives for all regions of the world, all applicable markets, and all sales channels. Key areas of responsibility include product development, rationalization, enhancement, cost, price, commercial support, engineering/manufacturing guidance, and positioning. Success in this role requires extensive technical knowledge of assigned product lines, as well as a comprehensive understanding of market conditions and customer needs. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) 61 Participate in Asia product strategy and product development initiatives for Cooling Products 61 Identify new markets and markets sizes through analysis of marketing research for existing, new, and emerging products 61 Influence and collaborate with R&D, sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop product definitions responsive to customer needs and marketing opportunities 61 Define and document customer requirements for new products, as well as desired changes/enhancements for existing products 61 Continually review current product portfolio’s ability to meet customer needs 61 Determine optimal manufacturing locations within specific markets 61 Develop product cost and lead cost reduction efforts to maximize margins in each region 61 Develop pricing and promotional strategies based on marketing research and competitive analysis; implement these strategies in conjunction with Sales and Marketing to establish and maintain market position 61 Develop competitive analysis materials to compare product segment with key competitors 61 Establish market pricing strategies 61 Lead and develop best practices, processes and documentation 61 In corporate with Sales and develop Value Sales Strategies and increase BOD 61 Organize annual Cooling Show and various market activities to increase Marley market penetration and influencing in the industry 61 Disseminate information on products and product/market strategies to all functional areas of the business unit, providing technical product training as needed EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 61 Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, notably in Engineering or another technical field 61 At least 8 years of product development experience in related industry 61 Knowledge of HVAC/cooling towers is helpful SKILLS: 61 Good communication & presentation skills in both English and Mandarin 61 Excellent Analytic & problem solving skills 61 Proficiency in Microsoft Office word, PPT and excel 61 Ability to effectively manage data and understand analytics using a CRM / pipeline management tool 61 Business Savvy 61 Must have excellent organizational skills to prioritize and meet customer commitments. 61 Auto CAD, CRM is preferred HVAC Industry is preferred ABILITIES: 61 Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as necessary. 61 Driven, visionary in nature, over-achiever; results-oriented with strong marketing sense. 61 Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and orally with all levels of the organization. 61 Ability to act independently and consistently to represent SPX to protect the company image and business needs.
