You will report directly to the Category Merchandising Manager at our Shanghai Office.
This is the job
As merchandiser, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing operations, developing and executing sourcing strategies on assigned categories (Beauty), negotiation of terms and conditions with suppliers, evaluate new alterations and maintain a reliable & dynamic supplier portfolio.
You are a point of contact with existing and new suppliers: building and maintaining strong relationships with them, while managing and monitoring their performance.
You will have close communication with stakeholders located in Copenhagen and Shanghai on daily operations and problem solving, acting as a critical link between headquarter and suppliers.
Responsibilities
61 Develop and execute sourcing strategies on assigned categories (Beauty) for inspiration and new products. 61 Source new alternative suppliers to improve and keep a dynamic supplier portfolio. 61 Negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms, production lead time, packaging, etc. to reach FTC goals. 61 Ensure all suppliers’ proposals, quotations and samples are completed on a timely basis for appropriate decision making to meet objectives. 61 High accountability driving competitive commodity strategies to achieve best unit price whilst pushing for more sustainable alternatives. 61 Closely monitor and ensure the purchasing order management runs smoothly and efficiently. 61 Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (commercial team, product design, compliance, quality, CSR team, etc.), for pre-product testing, factory evaluation and social compliance audit. 61 Market trends follow-up on key products and newness. 61 Suppliers ’training and engagement activities to ensure full accountability in the long run. 61 Guide or support group members to solve challenging issues. 61 Database management. 61 Open to travel to visit suppliers and attend exhibitions and fairs.
Qualifications
61 As merchandiser, you hold a bachelor’s degree in international trade and/or 6+ years of sourcing and purchasing experience in buying offices. 61 Commercial mind-set and understanding of European business and sales. 61 Must have product/production/industry knowledge in Electronics/Gadgets. 61 Familiar with sourcing operations and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. 61 Self-starter with excellent negotiation skills. 61 High accuracy level, attention to details and process efficiency. 61 Proficient in English both oral and written. 61 Fantastic time management skills and able to prioritize work. 61 Ability to multitask and be extremely organized. 61 Good experience in system operation (i.e., PLM, ERP, AX, etc.). 61 Microsoft super user is a must, especially in Excel. 61 Team management skills are a plus.
As a person you must be structured, efficient, proactive and detail oriented. You are used to work under short deadlines, act and communicate professionally with a positive attitude and team-player mindset – also during busy periods.
