We are looking for a Technical Product Manager at our location of Shanghai to be responsible for the New Build Thruster business in the China region. The ideal person for the role would be a technical and commercial professional who likes working in an international environment and have maritime background and interests.
Your tasks: Responsible for the promotion of the ZF Marine Thruster portfolio in the region. The region includes (but not limited to) China, could expand to Japan, South Korea if has leads. Identify, document, and qualify opportunities within the region that are relevant for the ZF Marine Thruster business. Develop qualified opportunities into orders through active communication with the clients and key accounts in line with the ZF Marine Thruster working processes. Drive and coordinate needed support of technical and commercial nature during the sales phase, working in coordination with peers globaly as appropriate and relevant to maximize the sales potential. Propose ZF Marine Thruster related marketing activities and support marketing within the region. Keep track of market developments, competition, and market share within the region. Responsible for creating and implementing timely regional product range development plans for the ZF Thruster portfolio to achieve defined KPI targets derived from business/ customer requirements Be the voices of the regional market to define the product specifications, to position product in the right customer segment for financial success Support operational and strategic planning processes in the regional respective portfolio The handling of Thruster aftersales opportunities is not part of this role. However, when an opportunity occurs, you are expected to work closely with the local aftersales team.
Your profile: Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combined with a good understanding of the maritime industry. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Sales and Product Management with deep knowledge Marine Propulsion equipment and specifically for (Azimuth) Thruster. Extensive knowledge of the regional Marine market with respect to vessel owners/ operators, designers and ship builders. Preferably OES/ IAM sales processes & business experience. Strategic and analytic thinking with strong drive for results and active execution of strategy targets. Willing to work digital (working from home) but also from the office when needed/ agreed High standards with respect to attention to detail. A flexible and open mindset is a must. Self-motivated personality with very good communication and relationship management skills. Fluent written & spoken English and local language Chinese.
