The Sr. Manager, Supplier Development is responsible for developing sourcing strategies for Exclusive Brands on existing products while also working with Product Development to create innovative products. This role will drive sourcing strategies that align to the strategic business goals and the critical needs of assigned categories. This role will collaborate with cross functional teams to identify, engage, and build strategic relationships with world class suppliers and factories across the globe. This person will know their supplier, industry, and category trends and are constantly thinking about what is next for the business. This role will benchmark within the industry to identify trends and opportunities to grow profit and sales.
1) Supplier Development 61 Develop and lead a team that manages a supplier matrix and country of production strategy that achieves global balance, optimal performance, and delivers on cost, quality, and responsible sourcing expectations. 61 Build sourcing strategies that align to strategic business goals and needs of the category while using negotiation skills to achieve financial plans. 61 Lead team that will find, create, and foster new supplier relationships that are beneficial to both parties. 61 This role will work with the cross functional and category management teams to design, develop, launch, and manage products that meet and exceed category expectations.
2) Category Development 61 Be a category and /or industry expert knowing your category, industry and suppliers always thinking what is next for continued profitable growth. 61 Work closely with cross-functional and category management team to drive product/supplier selection and line reviews, negotiate, prepare & execute supplier contracts and contract compliance. 61 Resolves escalations and makes strategic supplier decisions and trade-offs that drive value during the product life cycle. 61 Conduct supplier capacity/capability studies; measure & manage supplier performance. Manage and consolidate supply base as appropriate to improve sourcing effectiveness.
3) Talent Development 61 Create a cohesive team that supports and encourages all team members to grow both their career goals and the organization’s goals. 61 Perform team member quarterly reviews, talent assessments, and development plans.
