Responsibilities The EHS&S Engineer for BioChina is responsible for support EHS&S manager to develop EHS&S procedures and maintain EHS&S databases; organize training to build up EHS&S knowledge, lead EHS&S programs to ensure compliance with corporate and government requirements within BioChina operations unites and offices area.
Support Bio EHS&S team to build up EHS&S management system and prepare necessary documents for ISO14001/45001 management systems. Support or coordinate selected EHS&S compliance topics - Occupational Health management program - Lead Regular OH/Env. monitoring program, and report to Bio EHS&S supervisor if any result higher than 90% of the standard. - Overall coordinate Pollutant Discharge Permit operational reports and documents, maintain relevant authority database -Overall coordinate the authority databases system. -Overall lead the plant level EHS&S topics and deal with authority visits and ensure 100% completion of compliance related tasks, e.g. Pollutant discharge permit operations reports. Support or coordinate selected EHS&S proactive programs implementation - Overall coordinate EHS&S Training program: Orientation, annual refresh training. -Take investigation of EHS&S cases. - Upon EHS&S manager’s assignment, support or develop and manage proactive safety and health program elements which provide leading indication of the effectiveness of the site Safety, Environment and Health programs. Support or lead selected Be safe, Sustainability Development (More Green), Be Healthy proactive programs implementation. - Upon annual EHS&S working plan, lead the effective implementation of proactive EHS&S programs. -As a professional trainer to deliver selected EHS&S topics. - The programs: Job Safety Assessment and process safety assessment, chemical management, site walk-down, special equipment inspection, emergencies response plan and drills, incident investigation, hazardous waste management and waste recycle, More Green initiatives, biosafety management, etc. Provide EHS&S professional advice and support -Provide EHS&S&S technical support on project permitting review, design EHS&S review, construction safety management according to EHS&S manager’s assignment, such as: -Support project to ensure all EHS&S related permitting will be achieved. -Work with engineering team to review project design with EHS&S related regulation/standard and BI EHS&S requirements fully complied. -Be part of the design workshops and peer review meetings and be responsible for EHS&S related topics and be ready to answer the questions. -Implement contractor EHS&S management procedure and work with project manager to fully implement it. Support EHS&S culture building up - Support Bio EHS&S Team to build up EHS&S culture within BioChina where all employees become an extension of environmental, health and safety service Initiatives to improve the “BE Safe” and “BE Green” “ Be Healthy” situation. -Maintain EHS&S coordinators team. Support Business Unit EHS Affairs -As a business partner to be responsible for EHS&S performance of delegated business departments and plant level EHS&s affairs. -Collect business needs and identify risks. -Supervise(Walk-down) the execution and make analysis for regular communication with department heads
Requirements: Degree: Bachelor or master degree Major: Environmental engineering or industrial hygiene management or industrial safety management, engineering or natural science (e.g., biology, chemistry, pharmacy, physics) - Strong self-study and good motivation. - Communication, inter-personal skills and organization skills which allow efficient communication and engagement at all levels and functions within BioChina. - 2 years or above directly related EHS&S experiences - English fluent in speaking, writing, listening, reading
