Senior Social Media Manager – Chinese Platforms Location: Shanghai About the Role We are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Social Media Manager to lead our growth and innovation across Chinese social media platforms. This role is ideal for someone deeply immersed in the digital landscape of China—someone who not only understands trends but acts on them fast, builds relationships with platforms, and shapes forward-looking content strategies. The ideal candidate is both analytical and creative, and thrives on experimentation, speed, and platform fluency. Key Responsibilities ● Develop and execute a dynamic social media strategy across key Chinese platforms (Weibo, Douyin, Bilibili, WeChat, etc.) ● Monitor emerging trends, formats, and user behaviors—and lead rapid implementation of relevant content approaches ● Build and maintain strong relationships with platform representatives to stay ahead of algorithm changes and feature rollouts ● Coordinate with editorial, video, and design teams to produce content tailored to each platform’s tone and format ● Proactively identify growth opportunities and strategic partnerships within the Chinese digital ecosystem ● Analyze performance data to inform decision-making and long-term strategy ● Mentor and guide junior social media staff, fostering innovation and consistency across the team ● Overseeing advertising campaigns and driving the promotion of special projects Requirements ● 5+ years of experience in digital media, content strategy, or social media management ● Deep understanding of Chinese digital culture and the content mechanics of local platforms ● Strong trend-spotting instincts and a fast execution mindset ● Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills ● Native Chinese speaker; fluent in English (Russian is a plus) ● Experience working with platform partners or tech companies is a strong plu
