Job Summary
To manage and develop suppliers to provide parts that meet documented specifications for assigned commodities (such as: Sheet Metal / Plastics / Machining / Casting / Printed Circuit Board, Cable Harness) necessary to meet company requirements to achieve quality and operational excellence in China, Own supplier performance in terms of sample quality, production part quality, and other related metrics

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
61 Develop suppliers in China or Asia Pacific to meet or exceed DTS’ Supply Management performance metrics and general requirements.
61 Lead the effort under the supervision of the Quality Manager to resolve the quality issues related to purchase parts of both Nordson Manufacturing as well as the external suppliers. Work with and teach suppliers to use standard quality tools; FMEA, Fishbone, 5 Whys, 8D, 7-Step, and etc. to develop, implement, and verify corrective actions for both Nordson and supplier identified issues.
61 Manage material evaluation and qualification for samples, pilot, & production orders.
61 Meet directly with supplier personnel at the supplier, DTS or other facilities to address and resolve issues. The urgent resolution of issues may require short notice travel to the supplier’s facility.
61 Work directly with sourcing personnel and the supplier to assess and qualify local (Chinese) suppliers. Perform detailed assessment of all key suppliers utilizing Supplier Management tools and processes.
61 Be able to work with suppliers to identify gaps in production processes and inspection techniques, offering solutions for improvement
61 Measure Asian Pacific supplier performance improvements based upon Supplier Quality performance metrics.
61 Provide leadership, train and direct others in job related subjects or areas of knowledge. Effectively accomplish assignments that support the mission of DTS Projetcts.
61 Follow all work processes, rules and expected behaviors for Nordson China employees.
61 Communicate problems or difficulties related to the proper performance of the job. And recommending effective corrective action on problems.
61 Thinking ahead to meet / exceed customer’s expectation through generating new / optimizing current SQE processes
61 Perform other duties as assigned by manager.


Education and Experience Requirements
61 College degree or above.
61 At least 3 years working experience in supplier quality performance management area. Working experience in Sheet matel is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
61 Understand the Root Cause Analysis process and help supplier to follow 5 Why and PDCA to solve problems.
61 Lead and drive a systematic problem solving and process improvement approach utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles (DMAIC).
61 Familiar with Mechanical manufacturing process, especially for Sheet Metal Process.
61 Familair with the Quality tools.
61 Solid knowledge about sheet metal parts, familar with whole process of sheet metal manufacturing, especially for welding, surface treatment; well understand sheet metal supplier's ability, can give the advice for DFM; be an expert to help supplier solve quality/manufacturing issue.
