RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Work with Quality management or Program Management to plan and rioritize projects that are in accordance with the objectives and strategic plans of the company.
2.Lead periodic formal reviews to ensure the Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and PFMEA define the process and manage / reduce risk prior to product launch.
3.Assist with new product launches, work with Operations, provide training and create / update Control Plans to assure customer expectations for quality, performance and delivery. May require the design of quality gages and fixtures.
4.Responsible for Product / Process change management control. Ensuring change risk is managed and when applicable, supplier and customer approval is secured.
5.Prepare dimensional layout and compile relevant documentation for PPAP submission. Submit PPAPs into customer portals when required.
6.Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of relevant customer and regulatory standards.
7.Understand and control design features and critical characteristics that impact product performance.
8.Provide technical support for testing and prepare testing documents according to production requirements. Be responsible for lab training.
9.Provide reliable technical engineering expertise to Quality Auditors and Operations personnel as needed.
10.Lend engineering expertise to the Material Review Board. When needed, provide appropriate resource direction to evaluate non-conforming product for use.
11.Other duties necessary to support the quality team.
12.Knowledge of supplier quality management is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS
1.Bachelor of Science in Engineering + 3 years’ experience or a master’s degree is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
2.Strong problem-solving skills are essential to this position. Experience with six sigma, Fishbone, 5 Why, error-proofing or equivalent problem-solving techniques preferred.
3.Be able to read product drawings with knowledge of GD&T
4.Experience with metal stamping, injection, and coatings.
5.Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 or similar Quality Management
6.Proven skill at managing multiple projects with the ability to complete tasks on time.
7.Must have excellent communication skills coupled with strong
8.Working knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Minitab is essential for the Quality Engineer.
9.Good English communication is required, fluent spoken English is preferred.
10.Travel as the need arises for training, seminars, and supplier visit.
