Roche is hiring for an expanding operation in Shanghai and we are looking for
Dynamic leaders who can set up operations, whilst also displaying strong people
leadership skills to create and grow new teams.
The Packaging manager is responsible for achieving manufacturing goals and
providing leadership and oversight to all routine operational and
administrative activities which occur within the process step i.e. visual
inspection (VI), labeling, cartoning and palletizing. Ensuring products are
executed safely and timely in full compliance and consistency with GMP/ SHE
requirements and Roche’s corporate principles, quality policies and standards.

- The role plays a critical part in strategic project realization including
facility design, qualification and production readiness and start up.
- The role is key interface with the QA, ENG, MSAT, RA to ensure production
smooth and efficient running and drive consistency between the different teams
with the department.

Technical
Engineering Project Support and Operation Readiness:
*
Participate in new facility design and construction, including but not limited
to process design, equipment selection, URS review, FAT, SAT, IOPQ, APS etc. to
contribution on project delivery.
*
As a key role to establish an effective packaging system in alignment with the
Roche’s standards, including shopfloor management, packaging production, cold
chain management, people training and qualification system.
*
Assist manufacturing head to setup team and people hiring schedule to build a
competitive team that meets the project and production ramp up plan.
*
Lead to establish site VI defects library and training program and implement
it, ensure only qualified people perform GMP lots’ manufacturing.
*
Ensure team's competencies in performing VI and whole packaging process.
*
Participate in new product launch & tech transfer & packaging artwork
development, collaboration with other functions to ensure the smooth stable
output for commercial batches.
*
Represents the facility during regulatory inspections and audits and
participates in the response of regulator audit and global quality audit.
Routine Operation:
*
Ensure routine operation in compliance with Roche’s GMP/SHE and regulation
requirements.
*
Ensure total readiness of packaging suites, including housekeeping, machine,
materials, documents and other resources to ensure all things go on smoothly in
packaging and product delivery in time and within budget.
*
Perform daily review of production or deviation or batch record schedule and
allocate the appropriate resource to ensure all objectives within the team are
met.
*
Lead to execute annual VI operators’ qualification, provide on-the-job
training to support formalized technical and GMP training.
*
Proactively anticipates, evaluates and resolves technical challenges and
enables innovation.
*
Involve in the deviation investigation, including appropriate escalation where
needed to ensure closure of deviation within the set timeline.
*
Raise change control and provide assessment.
*
Participate in Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Qualification and Experience
Education/Qualifications
*
Bachelor’s Degree (Pharmaceutical / Biological is preferred) and above
Job Required Competencies
*
10 or more years’ operation experience in the injection pharmaceutical
industry, MNC Bio-pharma preferred
*
5 or more years’ people management experience
*
Experienced in strategic project of new packaging facility including design,
commissioning & qualification
*
Experienced in new facility startup readiness and operation ramp up including
organization, people and operation management system
*
Strong knowledge of cGMP and regulations relevant to pharmaceutical industry,
especially in biological industry
*
Able to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans,
understands and applies agile ways of working
*
